We are living in dark times. We find ourselves losing our power of thought and action, our very language, seduced into a shadowy half-world by the life-invading technologies of control that are turning the whole of society into a prison more far-reaching than the old concrete structures that we want to destroy. For anyone who has trouble sleeping, for those whose spirit soars in revolt, for those whose conscience won’t go quiet, what can give us the strength to continue? Or begin for the first time? Like glow-worms attempting to bring some light into the darkness, Act for Freedom Now! Has been disseminating words of the struggle against the existent since 2008. Through claims, communiques, analysis, meetings and news of events, including translations, distribution and publications, the multiform anarchist projectuality of attack on the existent is given expression so that on this dismal island we are strengthened and armed with the knowledge that we are not alone and no one can claim they are deaf and blind to the ongoing experiment of living anarchy in the 21st Century. Forever fighting to keep open and forge new paths of communication and turn the technology of the enemy against it, no judicial, penal or other pathetic instrument of a State can claim to impede the circulation of the rarest and most dangerous of wares: the idea of freedom. But they try. Since this project was born in November 2008, repression from State entities across Europe and beyond has attempted to impede similar efforts. In 2020 the No State server, which previously hosted Act for Freedom Now! as well as many other project sites, was raided and taken down on the orders of the British State. All this attests not only to the ongoing danger that the expression of anarchist ideas and attack represents to this rotten order, but also that we can expect such repressive efforts to intensify. For our part we intend to continue to make solidarity our weapon in the struggle to uphold and contribute to the daily revolt which has never repented or retreated and which the enemy will never extinguish.
