The Commoner is an independent anarchist publication written by commoners and for commoners. It is a springboard for common voices, ideas, and hopes. Our editors, writers, and supporters want to see the dawn of a common world, where every individual, anywhere, enjoys autonomy, peace, and security. The Commoner seeks to tap into the deep-rooted communalistic traditions that have defined various human societies for centuries so that we might end the atomisation of society and reclaim the world for all of us. We wish to fight and alter the mainstream acceptance of capitalist competition, exploitation, and misery, and its oppression through class, race, gender, and disability. We desire to shelter those who believe in the communal spirit of humanity. Quite simply, we want to explore what it means to be a commoner. At the centre of everything we do, write or say are three core ideals: 1. Common Ownership 2. Anti-Capitalism 3. The Deconstruction of Hierarchy and Exploitation We will also be co-hosting with The Marie Goldsmith Project (https://mariegoldsmith.uk/), an independent investigation dedicated to compiling and disseminating the works of the anarchist and biologist Marie Goldsmith, whose close association with prominent researchers, political thinkers, activists, and politicians around the world made her a fulcrum of early twentieth century labor struggles.
