Anthropocentrism – human superiority – is the root of global ecological crises and the prevailing ideology, even of so-called “environmentalist” movements. It results in the reduction of ecosystems to mere 'resources' providing 'services' to humans – rather than recognising that we are all embedded in a web of life, that nature has ‘inherent value’ and is worth defending for its own sake. In this workshop we’ll discuss alternative approaches to understanding human-nature relationships – biocentrism and eco-centrism – and how they can be part of our anticolonial green anarchism. We explore the implications for our politics and our organising towards ecological revolution! Hosted by Earth First.
